About Ramli John
Ramli John is a product onboarding strategist and creator based in Toronto, Canada, who spent over a decade helping B2B SaaS companies turn trial users into long-term customers. He’d built his reputation under his own name — writing books, hosting a podcast, and advising product teams at companies across North America. Delight Path was his move to give all of that a real personal brand identity design: a visual system that could carry his expertise and his personality into every corner of a growing consulting and creator practice.
Building a B2B Brand That Refused to Look Like One
SaaS consulting brands all look the same. Blues, clean sans-serifs, aesthetics approved by committee. Ramli had spent years watching that visual language flatten the very experts who should have been standing out. Delight Path wasn’t going to do that. He wanted it to feel like the best onboarding experience in the world — warm, clear, a little unexpected. The personal brand identity design had to earn attention without borrowing the credibility signals everyone else was already using.
The name itself was the first strategic signal. Delight Path is a riff on “happy path,” a product concept for the ideal route a user takes through a product. That connection to product thinking wasn’t just clever wordplay — it needed to show up in the brand as a sensibility. Approachable and expert at the same time. The way great onboarding feels intuitive even when it’s been carefully engineered.
In the discovery session, two things shaped the direction. First, a clear aesthetic history: the pixel-art, bold-color world of Ramli’s earlier Marketing Powerups brand had personality he wanted to carry forward, not abandon. Second, a plane metaphor that ran through how he thought about his work — safety briefings, lounge access, in-flight entertainment for the podcast. The visual language of travel and wayfinding fit the “path” concept and gave the brand room to grow beyond a single logo mark.
The strategic direction was elevation without erasure. Bold primary colors led by yellow. Pixel-influenced graphic elements that read as playful without tipping into juvenile. Type and marks that could hold their own on a book cover as confidently as on a YouTube thumbnail or a LinkedIn post. The system had to scale — not because the budget allowed for constant redesigns, but because a well-built brand system means you never have to.
That’s how a branding project became a design retainer. Social graphics, book covers, podcast artwork, YouTube thumbnails — all built on the same foundation, all recognizably Delight Path.
A Brand That Kept Growing
Delight Path launched in 2024 with a brand built to travel. By the time the retainer was running, the identity had moved through social media, two book covers, podcast artwork, and YouTube thumbnails without losing coherence. Ramli went on to publish Eureka, build Product Leaders Lab — a paid peer community for senior product leaders at companies like Adobe, Zynga, and S&P Global — and establish Delight Path as a recognized name in the B2B product space. The personal brand identity design project became the visual foundation for everything that followed.
The Work
What a Design Retainer Actually Buys You
A brand system is only as good as what happens to it after launch. Most businesses build a logo and improvise everything else. What a retainer changes is continuity — someone who knows the system well enough to extend it without breaking it. Every asset Ramli published through Delight Path stayed recognizable because the design decisions were made once and applied consistently, not reinvented every time a new format appeared. That’s what brand equity actually looks like in practice.
